“Writing a book proposal is a gamble. So then you might say, okay, well then why the hell would you do this? Why would you submit yourself to this painstaking, long process? I think that’s a really good question to ask yourself and put front of mind during your writing process. And I would argue the process of writing a proposal about an idea you believe in is fruitful for your creative life whether or not you sell it.”
