I recently heard someone describe their life as being divided into two halves. The first half was characterized by an attitude of “anything is possible!!!” said with conviction and excitement. The second half has an attitude of “...eh, I mean, anything is possible?” said with a knowing weariness that nothing is guaranteed so it’s best to stay humble.
Hi Rosie, congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you for sharing the news <3. I really connect with your words and your wisdom is spot on. I think I started following you online around the time I became a mother. Following you let me peer into a life that felt like that other side of the canyon you describe. A life I felt close to, but solidly on the other side of. Now I am close to 8 years being a mother of three daughters. There is a lot of complexity present, and I'm definitely just hopping over a lot of what it took for me to get here - but there is contentment, a sense of the generosity of life, and a deep knowing that it is worth it... because this IS it.
I will always enjoy hearing your perspective on things. I applaud you for letting yourself shift and grow and acknowledging that. Sending love to you!
